Lorian and Lothric Easy Strategy

Lorian and Lothric (“Twin Princes”) are a tough boss in Dark Souls 3. If you are on a low level build or a high NG+ it gets even more challenging. But we have a quick and easy strategy for beating Lorian and Lothric, the Twin Princes, with a super slick cheese.

Requirements

  • Decently upgraded Bow (Composite Bow +6 or higher works great)

  • A full stack of Standard Arrows

Phase One

The first phase of the Twin Princes cheese begins as you normally would. Dodge his attacks when you can and counter attack after it is safe. For this phase, you can use any weapon or spell you want to get Lorian’s health low. Also, you will be cheesing the entirety of phase two, so use as many Estus Flasks as you need to keep your health up. After a couple minutes of trading attacks with Lorian, you should be able to get his health low.

Once his health is low, you need to “bring” Lorian over to the bottom of the carpeted staircase (see image below). Note that you cannot be ON the stairs or you will fail the cheese. You need to be just below the stairs, ideally right on the red carpet.

The carpeted stairs to end Phase One

Phase Two

If you defeated Lorian (Elder Prince) at the right spot on the carpeted red stairs (see image above), Lorian and Lothric will spawn with zero aggro (see image below). Use your bow and STANDARD ARROWS to defeat Lothric (backpack prince). If you use Heavy Arrows, you will likely “pierce” through Lothric and aggro Lorian (ruining the cheese).

If your character defeated Lorian in Phase One from behind, but you were standing on any part of the carpeted stairs, you will FAIL the cheese and Lorian and Lothric will aggro after one attack.

If you follow these instructions exactly, you will be able to target Lothric (small prince) and take his health all the way to zero. That is right, neither of the Twin Princes will aggro at all. Make sure you do not hit Lorian (big prince) at all though. If you do, you will aggro him and phase two will being as normal.

Some players report having issues aggroing the Twin Princes in Phase 2. To ensure this boss cheese works, make sure you: (1) defeat Lorian Elder Prince near the bottom of the stairs as shown above, (2) do not move during phase two; and (3) target Lothric (small prince) right under his hood. If you target certain parts of Lothric’s body, you can sometimes aggro the bosses. The easiest way to avoid this is to attack right under his hood.
