Cheese Strategy
Using a bow and several arrows, you can cheese Maiden Astraea. From the entrance, head right to lure Garl Vinland towards the right pathway. Wait for him to advance and then race back to the boss entrance. This will reset Garl Vinland’s position. Then head down towards Maiden Astraea on the left path. When Garl Vinland begins to advance back up until he resets his position back by Maiden Astraea. You are now free to snipe Maiden Astraea without any interference from Garl Vinland.
Standard Strategy
From the entrance, head immediately left to face off with Garl Vinland. He will have his shield up, so you will need to attack him several times in succession to deal damage. After 2-3 attacks, it is best to roll back and reset. After doing this several times, he will be defeated. After Garl Vinland is finished, Maiden Astraea will sacrifice herself. That is all there is to this boss!
No Hit / Flawless Strategy
There are multiple ways to do the Maiden Astraea boss on a no hit or hitless run. Most no hit runners, including the legendary no hit runner FaraazKhan, follow a strategy similar to the standard strategy listed above. The key change on a no hit run is it is only safe to attack once per cycle with Garl Vinland. Using the Halberd, rush in when his guard is up and hit him with an R1. Then roll out to reset. Keep doing this until Garl Vinland is defeated. Make sure when you are fighting him that you do not get caught in one of his counter attacks.
