Easy Strategy
Magic attacks make the Old Hero boss very simple. Soul Arrow or Soul Ray do solid damage to the boss. To keep safe, walk behind him at medium distance. Wait for him to queue an attack, then counter attack with your spell of choice. It is important to let him attack first, because he will occasionally charge backwards.
Standard Strategy
Keep note that Old Hero is blind, and can only detect you if you RUN. Therefore, never run on this fight. Do not ever be in front of him, because he will randomly attack and likely hit you. Instead, stay behind him at all times. Wait for him to queue an attack, then counter attack. Watch out for when he charges backwards randomly. Outside of that potential move, staying behind him (and not getting greedy on attacks), will make this fight simple.
No Hit / Flawless Strategy
The no hit or hitless strategy for this boss fight is really the same as the standard strategy. As explained by legendary no hit runner FaraazKhan, stay behind the boss at all times. If you do not get greedy and only counter attack (once) after he queues an attack first, you will defeat this boss flawlessly without much trouble. And remember, NEVER run!
